Are you constantly trying to strike a balance between your work life and personal life but are not quiet getting there?
Do you often feel stressed because of too much work and neglecting your family?
Or, if you spend a lot of time in your private life, are you worried that your supervisors
think you are not focused or dedicated enough?
If you fail to balance work and life, your health will also
be paying price. This can lead to increased stress, unhappiness, and even lack
of sleep.
Following are the five ways I have figured out that have
been working out for me for the past 2 years:
1. Figure out what the right balance is for you
The definition of "ideal state of work-life
balance" in everyone's mind may be completely different, so you must take
some time to understand what your ideal balance looks like. It is very
important for you to find out things like how much time do you really need to
spend at work? How much time do you need to spend with family? What is the
appropriate time to be given to studies? And so on.
2. Grasp the work-life balance by yourself
At times, you will have no skills and can't do everything by
yourself. Knowing your main priorities can ensure that you set aside time for
the most important things.
3. Consider your work schedule
Although you may be reluctant to negotiate with your boss or seek his help, communicating with your boss is the best way to find out if you have other options, such as whether you can work flexibly or work from home.
4. Make time to be with your family
Is work always your first priority? If you often
deal with work in the process of participating in leisure activities, please
stop doing so immediately. Just like arranging a work meeting, you need to
arrange a special time to gather with family and friends or even arrange
yourself alone. Only in this way can the private life be arranged in the
schedule and get your attention.
Of course, you not only need to do it yourself, but you also
have to change your mind. Therefore, please turn off your laptop and mute your
phone so that you don’t think about work when you should relax.
